Obama? McCain? No, PN!
LA Ball Talk is having a blog contest pitting team blogs against each other and Pistons Nation has been nominated as one of the Detroit Pistons blogs.
Unfortunately for us the Pistons have some of the best blogs in the whole blogosphere, so we’re up against some pretty stiff (that’s what she said) competition. Fortunately Pistons Nation is worthy of the nomination.
So, if you appreciate all the hard work that goes into this site to bring you all the goings on in Pistons Nation then go on over to the contest page and give PN your vote.
Just a little site news for ya. I’ve added a second blog page for everything that’s not Pistons basketball. If you look above at the red navigation bar you’ll see a link that says “PN Page 2″ next to the “Home” link. That’s where the non-Pistons posts will be.
Posts will include stuff like woman, random YouTubes, other sports, humor, politics….maybe not. It’ll just be all kinds of different and hopefully entertaining stuff to take up more of your time.
The posts will not show up on the main page or RSS feed, so you’ll have to click the link on the nav bar link to check out what’s there. They will however be on the list of recent posts down on the side bar.
Enjoy.

ADRIAN DANTLEY still seems to hold a grudge about being dealt by Detroit to the Mavs during the 1988-89 season“Well, everywhere I’ve been, I’ve been a professional,” Dantley said. “You know about Detroit. So we really don’t need to talk about that.”
In site news I’ve painstakingly completed the 2008/09 schedule page with my limited knowledge of HTML tables. I’ve also created a page for Pistons team-by-team results for this season so you can see at a glance how well the ‘Stonz are doing against a particular opponent. It’s all in an effort to make the site less sucky and a tad more interactive. Check it out and let me know what you think or if you spot any errors.
Right up there with Marv Albert’s signature “YESSS!”, or Bill Walton’s “_____ is perhaps the greatest player at his position of all times”. Second maybe to only Blaha’s “Count that baby and the foul!” is Rock’n Rick Mahorn’s “No free Chili”. When ever there’s a highly contested cheapy down low you know what ‘Horn’s stance is! Who cares if it’s not that great of an analogy, it’s Rick frick’n Mahorn for the love of God. RESPECT THE CHILI!
Get under the boards with the newest Pistons Nation swag.
Time 2 rep’ the Nation! Show off your Pistons pride at school, at the Palace or even down in your moms basement. We currently have 3 designs to choose from: Mistake by the lake , in Joe we trust , & ‘Stonz . All 3 designs are available in a number of sizes, styles, & colors.
Hello PN readers. Sorry I haven’t been running around the ‘net collecting all possible Pistons’ related news in the last few days. I’ve been busy creating a new identity for the site. One of the reasons I like doing this site is that it’s a creative outlet for me, which includes the overall look & feel of the site. I’m not a pro as you can tell, but I’m ok I think. I’ve changed the main logo because there’s more that I can do with the new one for the site. I got some flack about the previous logo because it uses the Pistons’ official typeset and the jersey had the NBA’s logo on it. So, I went back to the ‘ol drawing board, errr paint shop program.
You’ll notice the new “PN Man” is grey. He’s not sad though. He represents all Pistons fans and players with his non-descriptness. He’s neither black nor white, he just is. I didn’t want to use players on the banner because they don’t all remain Pistons, so then you have to go back and crop them out. I’m a firm believer that if you’re a fan of a certain team you’re cheering for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back. The overall look of the logo is a combination of the current Pistons’ logo and the one they used in the Bad Boys days.
I was hesitant to make a post about the logo change because the site shouldn’t be bigger than the team it covers. In the perfect situation it’s 50/50 and that’s what PN will strive for. Anyways I figured some people might notice the changes and want to know what’s going on. If you’d like let me know what you think of the new logo in comments, good or bad.
There’s still some minor things I want to do, but I wanted to get this out of the way before the start of the season.
