Game #66: At Hawks, no TV

Posted by pistonsnation

The Pistons (23-42, 7-24 road) will be in Atlanta to take on the Hawks (41-23). The tip will be at 7 pm est from the Philips Arena. The game can be viewed locally on…it can’t.  Follow George Blaha’s call here or on WWJ 950.

Hawks’ snapshot
Home record: 25-7
Last game: 3/11 (Thurs) – W 105-99 @ Wizards
Last 10: 7-3
Streak: Won 1
Vs. Pistons: Nov 29th Atl (88) @ Det (94)
Injuries: Maurice Evans (illness: day-to-day)

First thing’s first.  It is patently ridiculous that this game is not televised for Pistons’ fans.  Shame on Fox Sports Detroit for dropping the game as well as shame on every other network for not picking it up.

The Pistons will be without Ben Wallace and Rodney Stuckey again.  That fact gives at least two guys something to play for.  Will Bynum, who is coming off a historic 20 assist game, is getting his chance to show off his point guard prowess.

Then there’s Jason Maxiell.  Although Max has improved his scoring touch, by many accounts he has not really built upon his previous four season in red, white, and Pistons’ blue.  In the 5 games Jason has started for the injured Ben Wallace he has upped his productivity (9.4 pts, 10.6 rebs) with the increase in playing time.  Jason pulled a career high 16 boards in a win against Houston and has had double-doubles in each of his last two games.

The Hawks as a team still have much to play for.  They’re currently tied for the 3rd playoff seed with the Boston Celtics.
