The Pistons (2-2, 1-1 road) will be in Toronto taking on the Raptors (1-2) at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre tonight at 7 pm est. The game can be viewed locally on Fox Sports Detroit, and can be heard on 97.1 fm “The Ticket”

Raptors’ Snapshot
Home record: 1-1
Last game: 11/01 (Sun) L 125-116 Vs. Magic
Streak: Lost 2

The Magic beat the Raptors with out three of their starters and we beat the Magic without two of our starters, so you know what that means don’t ‘cha?  Absolutely NOTHING.  Last night was a great win for the club but they were very fortunate.  The bottom line is the Pistons need to find out how to get the ball moving.  Eight assists on 37.5% shooting is not going to cut it.  We’ve seen what can happen when the guards are not getting the friendly whistles on their drives to the cup.

I’d like to see Charlie V improve on his 12 & 8 showing last night.  What better night than against the team that made him the 7th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.  I’m looking ‘forward’ to the matchup between he and Chris Bosh.  Bosh has been a monster so far averaging 30.1 ppg (tied for 3rd in NBA) and a league leading 14.7 rbs.

Again with no Rip or Tayshaun it’s going to take a concerted effort on the defensive end of the ball.  Thank heavens for Mr. Ben Wallace.  It also means – hopefully – more Daye, Jerebko, Wilcox, and maybe even a Maxiell sighting.

As for our old buddy Amir Johnson, he’s excited to play his old team.  Amir is off to a slow start north of the border only averaging 1.3 ppg, & 1 rpg (& 2 fouls) in 6.3 minutes a game.

ALSO OF NOTE: Raps are giving up 110.3 ppg while scoring 108 … The Pistons own a four game winning streak against the Raptors, and 7 of the last 8 … Raptors are an 8 point favourite …  Hedo Turkoglu is averaging 15 ppg on 50% shooting … trade looming for the Pistons?, Dumars says noDave Bing is re-elected mayor … tonight is Pistons first of 23 back-to-back sets … Raptors honouring Charles Oakley tonight

Great post. I’ll be watching the ball on offense as well — we need both player and ball movement. If we can keep their defense moving, our guards should be able to shred their defense.

Agreed, can’t have everyone just watching (choose a guard) dribbling around trying to get to the basket.

If we’re hitting we could have a big night. Toronto doesn’t seem particularly interested in getting stops.
