Magic Snapshot
Road record: 2-0
Last game: 11/01 (Sun) W 125-116 @ Raptors
Streak: Won 3
Injuries: Vince Carter (day-to-day, ankle), Mickael Pietrus (day-to-day, illness) Rashard Lewis (out, suspended)

The Magic are looking for their first 4-0 start in team history.  It’ll be a tall order for the the Pistons tonight as they look to extend their dominance over Orlando.  Remember?  We swept all three games against them last year! Yeah, that was pretty cool.  Well, a lot has changed on our side.

Offseason prize Vince Carter may or may not play tonight for the Magic.  Rip Hamilton (ankle) will not be in the Pistons lineup for the third straight game.  While the Magic were able to get a big road on Sunday without three of their starters, the Pistons have not fared so well without the starting two-guard.  The offense just isn’t nearly as efficient.  Don’t just take my word for it, ask Big Ben:

“I don’t think a lot of guys realize that he gets shots for everybody,” he said. “He gets assists for everybody without making passes. He gets assists with his legs. He’s coming off of picks and running and moving and getting everybody on the floor. With him out, it definitely changes the offense.” [Pistons.com, via brgulker]

Defending the Super Freak:

The Pistons’ success in the past against the Magic had a lot to do with their ability to contain Dwight Howard (21 pt & 16 rbs).  Sheedonite and McDyess did a great job playing Howard 1-up so we weren’t getting killed on the perimeter because of double teaming that high jumping super-freak.  Well, Kue hopes to replicate that success with a combo of Big Ben and Kwame (how about some Wilcox??).

ALSO OF NOTE: The Magic are a 6 1/2 point favorite … Stuckey hires a family friend as new agent … It took exactly one game in Memphis for “The Answer” to become Allen Cryverson … Kue, play them rooks! … On this day in 1928 Piston great George Yardley was born, R.I.P. … Streamers totally piss off Eli Zaret3QC previewCharlie Tweets: Don’t panic …Maybe tonight is the night CV? …
