Pistons looking for a treat in Milwaukee

Posted by pistonsnation

The Pistons (1-1, 1-0 road) will be in Milwaukee to take on the Bucks (0-1). The tip will be at 8:30 est from the Bradley Center.  The game can be viewed locally on Fox Sports Detroit.

Bucks’ Snapshot
Home record: 0-0
Last game: 10/30 (Fri) L 86-99 @ 76ers
Streak: Lost 1
Injuries: Joe Alexander (out – hamstring)

Still no Rip:

Rip Hamilton will be out for the second straight game with a sprained right ankle that occurred in the season opener.

The Pistons need to have crisper execution to make up for the loss of Rip’s scoring.  Last night there was too much one-one-one play by Thrill/Gordo/Stuckey.  If that theme starts to play out again Kue might just want to look to the recently activated Chucky Atkins for some veteran point guard influence.

Time to step it up CV:

Charlie says he was looking forward to this game against his old team.  He signed here because he wanted to be part of a winning situation, now it’s time to start earning that contract.

He needs to be more heads up on defense so he can actually stay in the game.  I know there may be a little rust from his preseason hamstring injury but the team needs him to get it going tonight.

Expecting more rook play:

Jonas Jerebko and Austin Daye were both available after serving their one-game fighting suspensions, but only Daye seen any court time and that was barely over a minute.

I think last night Coach Kue was looking to give his veterans a chance to figure their way out of the offensive woes.  Tonight he’ll need to lean on the young guys in a back-to-back situation.  Tayshaun played 44 minutes last night and Ben Wallace is logging 30 minutes a night through the first two.

ALSO OF NOTE: Both teams are coming off losses last night … Pistons have won 14 of their last 16 against Milwaukee … The Bucks are a 3 point favorite …

I really like our chances if Charlie V won’t half a$$ his screens and picks tonight, idk if it was cause of the fouls or what, but his screens and picks looked BAD last night. agree or disagree?

  2. PistonsNation Says:

I noticed that too. He just doesn’t look in-sync out there on the defensive end.

hopefully we’ll look a bit more in sync tonight. can’t watch the game till tmrw i gotta work tonight. haha If anything all this might just show that we actually do need rip AND Gordon. and that these trade rumors are stupid.

There’s some that won’t be happy until the whole ‘04 core is gone.

Give Rip & Gordo a chance. Both can go for 20 any night like it’s business as usual. We need that firepower.
