Who wants a game devoid of emotion?

These suspensions are out of hand.  First Jonas Jerebko is suspended for some incidental contact with Jamaal Magloire during the Heat game, and now Austin Daye for pretty much nothing when he and Carlos Delfino exchanged recipes during the Bucks game.

These little dust ups are hardly something to get players run from the game let alone handing them a game suspension.  I was blown away when they went so far as to call the infractions ‘fighting’.

I understand the league wanting to work towards repairing it’s image, but this is going overboard.  I’m not saying let the guys fight for no real reason like they do in hockey, but at least let them be competitive with one another. Conflict brings about emotion and that’s entertainment.  If I see guys get in each others face that says to me that I’m watching something that actually matters and is worth caring about.

I’m not sure if they’re trying to send a message in preseason and they’ll lighten up and let the guys play when the regular season rolls around.  It could also be these replacement refs feeling like the need to assert and prove themselves to the players.  Whatever it is it’s not good for the game.
