Press Clippings – Kwame’s house is a very, very, very fine house

Casa de Kwame

Hey, it’s the weekend. Relax, you can pick it back up on Monday. Can’t bro, the Nation beckons!

  • The good hardcourt physicians over at HoopDoctors have a list of the top 10 draft busts of all-times.  They list KWAME BROWN as #1.  Ok fine.  But, no where to be found on the list is the JOE D mega mulligan DARKO MILICIC.  Someone dropped the ball (not a Kwame reference).
  • In other Kwam-Dog Millionaire press clippings; he’s got his 6,329 square foot ocean front Cali crib up for sale.  It’ll run you $2,975,000 but Kwame assures that the movie room on the lower level is amazing (Disney DVD collection not included).
  • TROY HUDSON, who last played for G-State (9 games) in 2007/08 before being waived to make room for CHRIS WEBBER, is trying to get back into the league.  Hudson or T-Hud (Thud?) as he’s known in certain athlete-turned-not-so-successful-rapper circles held a private workout last week in Vegas for four perspective employers.  What’s that have to do with the Pistons?  They were one of the four. Will Hudson be that 3rd PG the Pistons are looking to add?  (H/T: DBB)
  • Now that Rasho Nestorovic has signed on in Toronto it’s seems that BIG BEN back in red, white, and Pistons’ blue is truely just a matter of time.  This would give a large segment of Pistons Nation some shiny-happy feelings, but over at LoD the glass is only half full.  Actually it’s damn near empty.  Toasterhands has the cold-hard-truth quotes from around the ‘net.  Example:

“At one time, it was easy to love Ben Wallace. He was a big guy, with big hair and big blocking. But it turns out that the only thing more important to him than his hair was cashing in on a reputation. He’s done that, won a ring, decorated his cabinet with defensive trophies, and now he’s just trying to get a bit more money. Big Ben stopped chiming in 2006. Let’s keep it that way.“

  • We told you in the last edition of the Press Clippings that all BRIAN HILL had to do was say the word and the lead assistant job was his.  Looks as if he’s said the word:

Joe Dumars, Detroit’s president of basketball operations, confirmed on Friday that the Pistons have received a commitment from Hill, who has been an NBA coach for 23 years which includes a trip to the NBA Finals (1995 with Orlando) as a head coach.

  • Vince Ellis reported yesterday that the Pistons should have first rounder AUSTIN DAYE aka “Diet Tay” signed by the end of the weekend.  But, if you follow the @Adaye5 (or PNb) on Twitter you’d have known that he officially became a Tweetroit Piston yesterday.
  • Coming in at #6 on the best-of-the-worst Pistons is the extremely Big O, OLIVER MILLER.  Remember he wants to make a comeback, and since we didn’t get Big Baby…just kidding.
  • WALTER SHARPE is expected to be waived by the Bucks.
  • CHRIS WILCOX’S 2-year deal has a player option for the 2nd year.  That could mean he’ll be balling for a bigger payday in 2010.  Rent-a-Piston?
  • Could the DETROIT RED WINGS call the Palace home?  They could, but probably won’t.
  • PistonsCast has a nice LAIMBEER retrospective for your viewing pleasure
  • DaJUAN SUMMERS has a mountain of kicks.
  • Local fans set your DVRs for tomorrow’s Pistons specials on FSD. Pistons Summer League Recap premieres at 8:00 p.m., followed by Remembering CHUCK DALY at 8:30 p.m.
