I'm gettin' married! Yeeeeah Boyyyy
So many links, so little time…
Terry Foster has a good write up on new Pistons coach John Kuester in the Detroit News. By now we al know about his George Washington U. team that went 1-27 back in 1988-1989, but did you know that according to Joe D. Kuester “ran everything” while he was an assistant under Larry Brown in 2004? We also learned that Kuester will come prepared.- The Pistons continue to come up in Boozer trade rumors, but ESPN says they’re not interested:
sources with knowledge of Detroit’s thinking insisted again Friday that the Pistons will not join the trade bidding for the Team USA power forward because they think Tayshaun Prince and newly signed Charlie Villanueva will complement each other better than Boozer and Villanueva would.
- Allen Iverson opens up and gets choked up while in front of a group of students while discussing his scholarship program.
- Charlie Villanueva and Chris Bosh are having some kind of contest to see who can get 50,000 followers on Twitter first. The loser has to do something embarrassing on YouTube. So basically it’s a win for fans either way.
- Jonas Jerebko’s to do list: Get clearance from FIBA to play in the Vegas Summer League. Check. Tear it up in first scrimmage. Check.
- Rip Hamilton will be doing the chicken dance this weekend, i.e. – he’s getting married. Congrats!
Rumor out of Denver is that Arron Afflalo & Walter Sharpe may be on their way to the Nuggets to clear more cap space for another big. Since we lost out on Brandon Bass they now say Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis is next on the list. Please Joe, for the love of Tripucka LOOK ELSEWHERE!- Grant Hill’s gonna stay in Phoenix. Jerry Stackhouse went to Memphis as part of the 4 team Shawn Marion deal.
- SI’s Ian Thompson thinks the Pistons are no longer the Beast in the East, but sees Detroit Basketball moving in the right direction. But the blog No Guts, No Glory counts Joe Dumars amongst the 3 worst GM’s in the league.
- DaJuan Summers Tweets: “why do reporters always ask me am I a 3 or 4” to which he answers: “I play ball dude.. leave it at that“. Then he goes out and balls in the Pistons first summer league game scoring 24 with 7 boards. Thanks to grantiscool we know we can catch summer league games here
- Yeah Wallace Family, we get it. Rasheed signed with the Boston Celtics. Very subtle.

BOSH , MILLSAP….AND BY THE AYW BROOK LOPEZ IS OUR ANSWER HE HAS ATTITUDE AND IS A TOUGH PLAYER..
July 10th, 2009 at 8:46 pmWE NEED TO TRADE RIP TO LIKE NEW JERSEY OR A TEAM IN THE WEST LIKE OKC THUNDER THEY HAVE A NICE SOLID BIG GUY BENCH AND THEY COULD USE RIP AND DURANT A GOOD COMBO TO CAUSE PROBLEMS IN THE WEST
July 10th, 2009 at 8:50 pmNone of Rasheed’s kids look alike. The only conclusion I have is… his wife’s a whore. Indeed.
July 10th, 2009 at 9:52 pmThe kid on the left doesn’t look too thrilled about Sheed becoming a Celtic… maybe he’s still a Pistons fan.
And what’s up with Sheed, is he trying to look like Iverson? Corn rows are just plain goofy on any guy…
July 11th, 2009 at 12:34 amNothing says “let’s do this thing” like a fresh set of cornrows.
We lost out on bass as an extra youthful big man. I am not sold on big baby as a 4th big man, but maybe we don’t have a choice. Rip to utah for a one year rental on boozer will have to happen. If he produces, then we can re up with him through the year or wait it out to see where every other team is at. The salary cap is rumored to be lowered again next year, maybe the market value of other free agents is devalued. A sign an trade may be a rout we can visit for a center or pf before the deadline. I like chandler, but is he too costly now, kaman, though solid, i am not crazy about. I like committing to boozer for the one year, once again, it will give us many options going into next season. The optimism over summer league performances of the three rooks, plaisted and washington is something to be said for, and they can share time with our 4th big man in a pf/sf rotation that will make us more athletic, long and defensive oriented until everyone picked for a specific role. Rip and gordon cannot man the sg postion on the same team, especially if a team is willing to take his contract off our hands.
July 12th, 2009 at 3:06 pmBig Baby would be a fantastic addition. The guy can score down low, is a solid position rebouder, and has attitude.
I’d take Big Baby over Mad Max every day if the week.
July 12th, 2009 at 3:17 pmUnfortunately Max is being paid waaayy too much.
