Cowens will not be an asst coach next season

Posted by pistonsnation

From Chris McCosky:

Dave Cowens, NBA Hall of Famer and Pistons assistant the last three seasons, will not return to the bench next season.

Cowens, who has one year remaining on his contract, will be reassigned within the organization. He will assist president Joe Dumars and do some scouting.

The Pistons are left with three main bench assistants — Darrell Walker, Pat Sullivan and Harold Ellis

This is a great candidate for a “Choose your own Michael Curry Joke” adventure

    Great opening for Bill Laimbeer.
Pistons could use a coach with the “Bad Boy” experience!

It’s time to bring in BILL LAIMBEER!!! When Curry’s contract is up. Make laimbeer the NEW HEAD COACH OF THE DETROIT PISTONS!!! It’s time for Bill to have a shot! What is Joe waiting for? Bill belong in Detroit, don’t let him end up somewhere else. He dosen’t want that and no one in Detroit want to see that happen.

Bill should become an assistant first and coach later. He needs some NBA experience as a head coach. Give him the chance.
