PN’s big mock draft board

Posted by pistonsnation

If any of you readers are like me and don’t really follow college hoops then you know that making a pick on whom the Pistons may select with their #15 draft pick wouldn’t be much more than a semi-educated guess.  So instead I put together a pretty good cross section of picks from around the ‘net.

At this point the popular choice is that the Pistons will get a B.J.  There’s even been reports of a promise to draft the Ohio State 7-footer by the Pistons.  Then again with the current economy and a sub par draft class the Pistons could elect to trade the pick and get away from the guaranteed money for a guy who may not be able to make an impact.  Thus rendering this pretty little table I’ve made worthless.

So do you agree with the Pistons drafting Mullens for his size and potential or is there someone who might be available at #15 that you’d like to see the ‘Stonz take?  Or would you like to see Joe trade the pick and put that money towards free agency?

reader’s = reader is. just because it’s (it is) a blog doesn’t mean you don’t need some command of the english language. i’m (i am) not mad, i’m (i am) just disappointed.
i read your (not you’re) blog often and consider you the redheaded stepchild of need4sheed.

    Anonymous 1:12 pm e,
Thank you for the head’s errr heads up. I’ve gone back and removed the ill-fated apostrophe. I guess I’m not immune to the occasional erratum, but I appreciate the time you took to point this out to me in an effort to improve the overall caliber of this blog.

I was rather surprised that you chose to ignore the capitalization of the first word that begins a sentence, not to mention the word “English” as it is the proper name of the language, thus should be capitalized. But, I just figured you must have you’re errrr your reasons.

I would like to also thank you for being the avid reader of the site that you have professed to be. I’m glad to count Anonymous 1:12 pm e as part of the Pistons Nation Army!

I’m deeply honored that you’d even mention my blog in the same sentence as Need4Sheed, even if it is in a red-headed stepchild capacity. Dare I say that this site shares a grammar deputy with N4S?!

Anyhow, Anonymous 1:12 pm e, what do you think the Pistons should do with the #15 pick?

…Awkward exchange above me notwithstanding…this blog is the best and my favorite, of course. I wanted to point you to Yahoo’s “team report” of the Pistons, which they seem to put up every few weeks. They have some interesting draft information this week ,and generally it is very solid and concise information. Check out the “team report” if you haven’t seen seen it before.

    Kevin,
Thanks for the head’s up, and let me know where to send the PN t-shirt.

Joe Dumars has already said he will not draft based on need at a certain position and will take the best player available, and there will most certainly be better players available than Mullens. If he were drafting based on need, then he probably would take Mullens (assuming Dejuan Blair, Earl Clark & Hansbrough were already taken). There is a big crop of excellent Point Guards, so the pick will definitely be a PG or PF- the best available from the following:
    Curry PG
    Flynn PG
    Holiday PG
    Blair PF
    Maynor PG
    Clark PF
    Jennings PG
    Hansbrough PF
    Lawson PG
    Teague PG
