Enter Ben Gordon rumor
Posted by pistonsnationBen Gordon has pretty much been a constant on the Pistons offseason radar, well now there’s a rumor from Sam Smith that Ben Gordon’s agent is saying that the Pistons have promised Gordon an $11 million contract.
That would mean we’d have three very good 2-guards, which of course is not all that good. The most likely to be moved would be Rip which would lend credence to the rumors that Joe is willing to deal Hamilton.
I personally have my reservations. We seen what happened last year when we tried to convert Stuckey, a natural SG, into a point guard. We still need a point guard and we still need big men to help perimeter guys to get good looks.
For a little more on this rumor check out Dave Dial’s coverage on Mlive.

Can’t fathom paying guy 11/yr that doesn’t have a specific position and can not play D worth a lick.
Sure, some games he’ll be worth all of the money, but other times he’s nothing more than a shot chucker offering little more.
June 17th, 2009 at 11:28 pmHow can you say he doesn’t play lick of defense when he was chasing around Ray Allen, probably one of the best 2-guards in the league, for a seven game series. And if I’m not mistaken he was pretty much in Allen’s shirt on every shot. I think he is an underrated defender anyway.
June 18th, 2009 at 10:48 amRay has lost a step or five, heck, even Redick looked pretty decent chasing Ray around.
June 18th, 2009 at 2:45 pmHow about a Tmac + Landry+ Lowry = Rip+ Prince+ Sheed (SnT)trade? You’ll get a real PG and a hard-nosed PF, Tmac at worst could still be another G Hill and can be a good back for Ben.
June 28th, 2009 at 12:05 pmBEN GORDON IS CLUCH IN MOMENTS BUT CANT PLAY DEFENSE VERY WELL. HE TURNS THE BALL OVER A LOT. NOT A SUPERSTAR BUT ONLY A GOOD SHOOTER. PISTONS ORGANIZATION WILL REALIZE THEY OVER PAID FOR BG SOON JUST LIKE THE BULLS OVERPAYING FOR BEN WALLACE. THESE PLAYERS ARENT WORTH IT. I SEE OVERPAYING MJ, KOBE,LEBRON,DWIGHT HOWARD, EVEN SHAQ IN HIS PRIME BUT BEN GORDON LOL. WOW GOOD LUCK DETRIOT PISTON. PISTONS SHOULD OF PULLED THE TRIGGER FOR RAY ALLEN AND RONDO INSTEAD OF SHOOTING THAT DOWN. WOULD OF BEEN CLOSER TO A TITLE.
July 4th, 2009 at 9:52 pmBOSTON OFFERED RAY ALLEN AND RONDO FOR HAMILTON,RASHEED AND PRINCE MAYBEE A COUPLE OTHER PLAYERS TO MAKE THE TRADE SUCCESFULL BUT DETROIT SHOT THAT DOWN QUICK. I WONDER WHY.
