Herrmannator contemplating Spain, etc.

Posted by pistonsnation

Word out France is that Big Herm is thinking about taking all his R’s and N’s over to Spain.  Like I’ve stated recently, I’m pretty indifferent about Walter Herrmann.  He’s got a lot of game, but it didn’t seem like Michael Curry (Flip either) was able to tailor it to the Pistons.  Often times ‘handswasn’t able to help Tay like we’d hoped for. Here’s a little more from the Free Press:

Free agent forward Walter Herrmann may return to Spain, according to a French-language Web site. The report said that the club Pamesa Valencia is rebuilding after losing three key players and that club president Manuel Llorente wants to bring Herrmann back. Herrmann played four seasons in Spain after beginning his career in his native Argentina.

Also makes you wonder if there’s going to be another Euro-exodus this summer?

  • Derrick Coleman has his fingers crossed in hopes that Joe D might add him to the coaching staff.  D.C. says he can teach big men the “lost art” of post play.  Great.  Now we just need some big men!
  • The Salt Lake Tribune believes Mehmet Okur could command big bucks should he opt out of his Jazz contract.  Could Coleman get the Turkish Sheed to play in the post?
  • If it hasn’t been said 10-gillion times; Rodney Stuckey looks like Fiddy.  Ten-gillion one.

  • Vince Thomas of NBA.com has high praise for Chauncey Billups.  Thomas campaigns against Big Shot being lost in the shuffle of great guards because he should be a first ballot HOR’er.  Then hop on ove to HoopsWorld and check out Luke Byrnes’ piece on why Chauncey is the league’s real MVP.  Both are solid must reads, but be careful.  It might make you want to strangle Joe D.
  • John Salley ( via DBB tweet) talks about how the NBA has followed societies lead by being soft and overly image conscience.  I fully endorse Salley’s sentiments:

I think the whole society has just gone soft. I don’t think it’s just the NBA. Think about this, dude: we sit around and cry about everything. It used to be, ‘Yo, man, don’t cry. Toughen up’ … You can’t even say at work that a girl is beautiful. That’s sexual harassment. That’s bull sh*t. I just think that whole mentality is really some bull sh*t. I’m not bull sh*tting you. I just think that whole toughness is gone.

I really couldn’t agree more. Liberalism is ruining this country. How long do we put up with this backwards crap?  This could actually use a whole post and not just a measly bullet point, but people would probably be too offended, and that brings us back to the point…</rant>

  •   Dennis Rodman will be on season 3 of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab. Of course The Worm is a now a seasoned vet at these reality shows but it’d be great if he takes this one to heart and cleans up.  Still, no matter how many of my beloved Bad Boys do these different shows I’ll continue to be of the opinion that reality T.V. f ‘ing blows.
  • Should Joe D take a page out of Jack McCloskey’s playbook and go with an unheralded guard from a small school?  While you’re at it here’s a lists of Dumars drafts through the years courtesy of LoD.
  • OT: The Orlando Sentinel is at it again, but for some strange reason I kinda like it this time.

haha, I love that Orlando Sentinel pic. I actually just tweeted about it just earlier today (http://twitter.com/stevekays/status/1948603443).

It’s so true about LBJ. I’m not saying he never gets calls, but he’s approaching Wade 2006 status, in which everything is a foul.

That blocking call on Cleveland’s last offensive possession of regulation in game 4 was lunacy. No one else in the league gets that call. Guaranteed.

  3. toasterhands Says:

I’m sad about Hands leaving Detroit, but it’s not surprising.
