A case for Amir
Posted by pistonsnationTake a look at the following totals as an illustration of why Amir deserves more minutes.

| Amir Johnson | 21 | 347 | 47 | 53 | 100 | 25 |

Now I’m not trying to say that Amir needs take Tay’s spot in the lineup. I’m just having a hard time figuring how the kid goes from the starting lineup to stringing together multiple DNP’s? Granted, he commits a lot of fouls (3rd on team), but he’s not going to get any better at that by holding down the pine. What I am trying to say is that there is no reason why Amir shouldn’t get more consistent minutes. He makes things happen when he’s in the game.
He’s still not a great scoring option, but he can help the scorers get more opportunities with his hustle and board work. Amir is young and athletic enough to be able to play Curry’s small ball. He might even be more equipped for small ball than a traditional line up.

Amir has been ready all along. I believe Curry got sidetracked when we had a stretch of games against traditionally big centers. Starting Kwame at those times seemed right, however, omitting Amir for 5 straight games was a mistake. He plays with Rasheed better than any other big, especially defensively.
