Ind@Det – the compendious preview

Posted by pistonsnation

The Pistons (11-9, home 5-4) will be hosting the Indiana Pacers (7-14) tonight at 8 pm est from the The Palace of Auburn Hills and can be viewed locally on FS Detroit Plus.  (channel listings)

Pacers’ Snapshot
Road record: 2-9
Last game: 12/10 (Weds) L 88-101 @ Raptors
Last 10: 2-8
Injuries: Mike Dunleavy (sore right knee), Travis Denier (sore left foot)
Last meeting: Oct. 29th Pacers (94) @ Pistons (100)

Pacemate BethanyThe Pacers come into the Palace on a four game losing streak, but in all fairness the two of the teams they played: Boston (twice), and the Cavs have been putting games in the L column for most opponents this season.  Indiana has the ability to beat superior teams, in fact they’re the only team in the league to beat both the Celtics and Lakers.

The Pistons are on a losing streak of their own and are trying to avoid a 4th straight loss to a sub .500 team.  I’m going to assume that the three bigs that saw a combined ZERO minutes against Washington will be able to get those splinters of their butts in time to to battle with the leagues 4th best rebounding team tonight. Indiana’s Troy Murphy is leading the team in boards 11.1 per to go along with 11.8 ppg.

Tonight would be a great night for the Pistons to tighten up their D starting with the Pacer’s Danny Granger who’s averaging 23 ppg, the same guy who went for 33 against the Pistons on opening night.

I’m hoping the Pistons treat Larry Bird’s team like Brian Fellows would treat, well…a bird.
