Game #15: Pistons trump Bucks
Posted by pistonsnation
The Pistons quelled the Iverson-practice controversy the simplest way they could have, by winning a basketball game. {box score}
Allen Iverson (17 pts, 7 asts) didn’t start, but he helped the Pistons finish the Bucks off in the fourth.
Rodney Stuckey, who did start, had another quality outing. Stuck helped the Pistons set the tone early in the game. Stuckey really used his size and strength to get the better of his match up with Luke Ridnour. Ridnour would do pretty well in a Rob Thomas look-a-like contest, but he was no match for Rodney Stuckey around the rim. Stuck finished up with 12 points, 5 assists, 4 steals (career high) and only 1 turnover.
The Pistons answered Curry’s call last night for playing physical early on. They recorded 6 blocks in the first quarter, 3 by Maxiell alone. The Pistons were also able to beat the Bucks in the paint 34-28.
GAME NOTES: Iverson didn’t start but he still logged more minutes than Stuckey, 27 to 23 … 6 Pistons in double figures … Maxiell 13 pts, 8 rbs … Walter Herrmann 16 pts, 4 rbs … Pistons with a 63-44 edge in bench scoring …
