Ten days ago the Celtics spoiled Allen Iverson’s Palace debut. Tonight the Pistons go into their crib looking to return the favor.
Rasheed Wallace said. “They came in and (beat) up on us. That was their job. Now, I think we’re better than we were when we played them last time, so we just gotta go up there in the Garden and do what we gotta do.” -Yahoo
In the Pistons favor will have been five more “gett’n to know ya” games with Allen Iverson. They’ve come along way with fitting AI into the mix from the November 10th meeting. Another positive is all the rest that Tayshaun Prince and Rip Hamilton got last night as a result of a Stuckey/Afflalo combination that was clicking against Cleveland.
Curry’s lineup combinations are also working for the Pistons. M.C. is doing a good job of countering his more seasoned contemporaries. I’m eager to see Curry’s lineup chess moves the second go round with Doc Rivers.
Not working in the Pistons favor is the fact that they had to win in come-from-behind fashion last night and then immediately hop a flight to Boston. Rasheed Wallace has been logging some heavy minutes as of late. Rasheed played 42 minutes last night. That’s coming off a 2007/08 campaign when Sheed averaged just 30.5 minutes per.
As long as the Pistons play solid defense (i.e. not letting benchies go off) this should a much more competitive game.
