Big head caricature T’s

Posted by pistonsnation

Not much going on in the way of Pistons news so I started to surf other parts of the web the other day. I came across something on eBay that sent nostalgia shooting down my spine. The auction for this Isiah Thomas / Magic Johnson Salem Sportswear big head caricature t-shirt.

Who else remembers these? I loved these shirts. They were pretty big when I was in grade school, but I don’t see ‘em that much these days. I liked these better than any other types of sports shirts. The best were the group shots like when team’s won championships. Whom ever they commissioned to do the drawings of the athletes was pretty good at it because the likenesses were pretty spot on in most instances.

I was only thinking about these just recently and how much I loved them!! I had a fantastic Larry and Magic one, as well as a couple of Bulls Championship T’s in the same mould.

Why, oh why, do they not produce these any more?

When I see these types of T’s it instantly transports me back to the glory days of the NBA. It’s a rarity to see any of these style T’s around these days.

    Thanks for the memories!

I must have blinked and missed the big head era. I may be a Cavs fanatic, but I would wear that shirt.

I still have mine-and lament the loss of such cool shirts. The ones today are sucky. My fav was the Palace Guards with Isiah, Joe and Vinnie.
