Let the games begin!

The Pistons and Celtics kick off their best of seven Eastern Conference Finals tonight at Boston’s TD Banknorth Garden. The game tips at 8:30 EST and will be a nationally televised ESPN game.

It’s here, it’s finally here.  The matchup that everyone has anticipated since Danny Ainge and Kevin McHale did their good ‘ol boy trade that landed Kevin Garnett in Boston.  The two undisputed best teams in the East are going to square off tonight to strike the first blow in their quest for the NBA Finals.

We all know by now that the Celtics have had some troubles winning on the road, and that’s putting it rather mildly.  It’s really a blessing they played so hard during the regular season to secure home court throughout because they’ve escaped rounds one and two by virtue of their home court advantage.  So, tonight is it even presumptuous to say that if the Pistons are able to win tonight in Boston they’ll have a strangle hold on the series after just one game?  We know our Pistons are not new to this and they would relish the opportunity to take what the Celtics have worked so hard for in front of the Boston faithful.
