Mo Cheeks is a card Posted by pistonsnation at 11:53 am

I think maybe this is why Sheed digs Cheeks so much, they’re cut from the same cloth.

During Sunday’s game, Cheeks had constant byplay with a Pistons fan sitting in the first row. The fan wore glasses, at least until Cheeks walked by.

“Every time the guy had his glasses on, Detroit would score,” Cheeks said after yesterday’s light workout at the Palace of Auburn Hills. “And I kept taking his glasses off.”

Cheeks couldn’t stop laughing at the thought a day later. During stoppages, Cheeks would go over to the fan and take his glasses off.

“Every time I took his glasses off, we went on a little run,” Cheeks said.

The coach did it several times because it seemed to be working.

“The guy probably didn’t see half the game,” said Michael Preston, the Sixers’ public-relations director, who was sitting behind Cheeks.

The breakthrough, according to Cheeks, came late in the game.

“He was great about it,” Cheeks said of the fan. “With two minutes left in the game, he said he was leaving his glasses off, and he did, and we ended up winning the game.” - Philly.com

I think it’s great that he keeps things loose but I’d prefer in the playoffs a little more in game intensity from the coach right down to the 12th man. Seems like being a champion and being intense go hand-in-hand.

Rasheed Wallace blogging Posted by pistonsnation at 10:27 am

I never pegged Sheed for a cyberspace type of cat but apparently he’s doing some blogging at YardBarker. Probably like Arenas’ blog Sheed isn’t at a keyboard banging these out, he’ll probably be telling someone what he wants said and they’ll do the heavy lifting. Here’s his first entry which is just a “Hi, my name is” type of post:

Wanna say what’s up to the Yardbarker nation, it’s ya boy Sheed Wallace talkin to ya. New to the “Yard” just want to let everyone know a little about me. I’m an avid football and boxing fan but pretty much watch all sports. Grew up in the city of brotherly love “Philly,” and love all pro teams there except for the Eagles (long story share another time). Went to North Carolina @ Chapel Hill and after 2 years decided to go to “The League.” Now I’m ballin with the Pistons and lovin it. We’re in the midst of snatchin another title. I’m live and in full effect and I will be talkin to you good people later.

So, you’re probably gonna wanna bookmark http://yardbarker.com/users/RasheedWallace
