From the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette:
Less than 48 hours after leading the Mad Ants to their second straight NBA D-League win, 7-foot-1 center Cheikh Samb was recalled by the Detroit Pistons.
Kind of an interesting move, I’d like to hear the Pistons reasoning for bringing Samb up. (Thanks to PN reader Chris for the heads up.)

I’d like to see Walter Hermann play. I’m about ready to write to Pistons.com writer Keith Langlois that Flip Saunders should be fired if he doesn’t start playing Walter who after seeing his great D on Dirk v.s. the Mavs–should persuade you to play him.

Here’s an update for Keith Langlois’ Pistons.com blog:
“It’s tough for big guys (in the D-League),” Flip Saunders said. “It’s a guard-oriented league where guards get the ball and they want to shoot all the time, so big guys don’t get a lot of touches. But I think it’s been good for him to get playing time and get on the court.”
Samb likely will return to Fort Wayne at some point, Saunders said, but while the Mad Ants are on a West Coast trip “we thought it would be best to get him back and have him around us a little bit again.”
