KG = Klassless Guy

Posted by pistonsnation

I’m not even going to get into how talented this guy is because that goes with out saying so there’s no need to preface it. This guy is immature and classless. By the way, I don’t personally know him so I’m referring to the basketball player, so there’s no need to tell me what a philanthropist he is off the court. The C’s beat Garnett’s former team, the 7-35 Timberwolves, last night in Boston by ONE POINT and Garnett is goes into extended jersey popping mode. Nice sportsmanship.

Since Garnett has come on board the Celtics have been transformed into a band of trash talkers. I understand the whole “winning” thing is new to them but at some point you they might want to actually act like winners.

UPDATE:

In case anyone reading this thinks I’m overreacting to an isolated incident I’ve added some other examples in comments to illustrate my point.

Classless… for popping a jersey after a close win?
Baron flexes in game after dunks even when his team is getting blown out.
Ricky Davis went for an “own-basket” rebound, is he the devil?
I hope you don’t call Dirk a Hitler after he sticks out his tongue after huge baskets in the regular season.

Quit overreacting and realize YOUR OWN TEAM has the MOST classless on-court player in the NBA in Rasheed Wallace. I’m sure he gets all those T’s because of what a swell guy he is.

The jersey popping is but one example.

I started forming this opinion years ago after seeing Garnett trash talking then shoving the BACK of Tim Duncan’s head while TD was acting as a peace maker during a Spurs/Wolves shoving match.

There’s also the rumor that KG trashed talked Duncan by telling him “happy Mother’s Day” during a Mother’s Day game…Duncan’s mom is dead btw.

How about all the trash talking by KG/Celtics against the Knicks on MLK day? Doc Rivers sure seemed embarrassed by it.

When the Celtics played the Palace, remember Jason Maxiell blocking Garnett’s shot and Garnett starts jawing with him and then when Max comes back at him KG wants nothing to do with it? Reminded me when he acted like a tough guy last year throwing the ball at Dice and then back peddling when Dice came after him

Or better yet mookie, just google Garnett & trash talk.

Here’s a quote from our friend over at http://www.spurstalk.com I thought it was pretty good.

“I remember one time Kevin Garnett was mushing him, and shoving him in the face; and Tim Duncan didn’t do anything, he didn’t react. He just kicked Kevin Garnett’s ass, and won the damn championship. You know what I’m sayin’? That’s gangsta. Everybody can show emotion, dunk on somebody, scream and be real cocky; but Tim Duncan is a…he’s a pimp.” – The one and only Ron Artest

I make NO excuse for physical cheapshots on the court, they are inexcusable. (I never saw the Duncan shove/smack) That said, on the court, there is a mental game going on, and apparently KG is good at getting in peoples heads. Even yours. In your first video, it is Dice that initiates the cheapness by whacking Madsen. The second video is weird. Half trash talking, half crazy talk.

You gotta admit you come across like a hypocrite. Sheed is THE classless on-court player in the NBA. It’s not even close when you compare them. (Sheed is a cool dude off the court tho)

I’m not going to say I don’t get embarrassed as a fan when Rasheed is carrying on. I don’t like it. But, I didn’t say Garnett should be more like Rasheed.

Carrying on when you’ve just beat a team by one point that you should have handled easily is no reason to carry on like he did. The other Celtics were congratulating the Wolves for playing tough while Garnett is acting like he’s about to shoot an “I’m going to Disney Land” commercial is classless and he’s been making a spectacle of himself all season. It’s getting old.

    From “Wolves Watch” on MVN:

“Instead, Telfair, along with McCants and Gerald Green decided to start jawing with the Celtics before the game was decided, and it made us look like fools when Boston won.”

I don’t blame KG one bit.

  7. vyvee Says:

Sheed agrues with refs and such, but he is not classless. Garnett is a classless punk. don’t compare his antics to sheeds. Pierce, perkins and garnett have made a fool of themselves this year. When the pistons win a game, you do not see anyone (including sheed) act like the garnett does. I can’t stand him.

  8. Nick Says:

You have to understand that KG has played the last 3 seasons or so in MIN (2004 they were a hot team) and struggled. It feels great winning again. He has unbelieveable talent and he is the C’s best player by far. He plays great defense.

KG is an emotional player, I don’t blame him at all for showing his emotions. Are you scared of he and the C’s? LOL, jk. I’m most scared of him as a Pistons fan, he is a heck of a player that Sheed and Dyess have to deal with.
