Woe is Rip

He injures his ankle in preseason. He misses a couple of games with the birth of his son (that’s not actually a bad thing). He then gets the flu or flu like symptoms right when he’s mired in a shooting slump that has fans calling for Flip to bench him and now…

Flip Murray did make it to Milwaukee in time for the shoot-around Saturday morning. He had left the team Friday to attend a family funeral. The news on Rip Hamilton isn’t as cut and dried. Rip said his hyperextended right elbow is still hurting, especially when he tries to follow through on his shot. He has taken treatment the last two days and will wait until game time to decide if he can play.

Poor guy can’t catch a break.

Where photoshop happens

I’ve been messing around with creating Pistons vector art and thought I’d share it with you, the Nation readers, in hopes of inspiring more of you to give this a try the way I was when I happened onto the the Golden State Warriors’ blog goldenstateofmind.com and seen this tutorial by their resident vector artist Tony.psp.

There’s three main reasons I do this blog. 1) Because I love Pistons’ basketball dating back to the Bad Boy days 2) My love for Pistons’ hoops makes me want to seek out others with similar interests, hence the Nation! 3) I’ve always been a creative/artistic person and this blog gives me a place to express that creativity.

Now I wouldn’t exactly going to call this a “tutorial” because I’m not really going to take you step-by-step, but I’ll give you tips that have helped me develop my particular style, then the ball is in your court so to speak. Individual style is something that Tony.psp stresses and I think that’s what makes this a fun thing to learn because even though you can have two different artists doing the same pic it’ll turn out different depending on how the artist interprets colors, shapes, and shadows, and also how much detail you’re looking to put into it.
